Overview

Create dynamic links within relativized VAV graphics that point to associated AHUs. Build reusable graphics with proper relative navigation.

The Challenge

When creating relativized VAV graphics, you need links that navigate to the parent AHU, but the AHU path differs for each VAV instance.

Solution: Relative ORD References

Use relative paths and relationships to create dynamic links that work across all VAV instances.

Approach 1: Parent Hierarchy Navigation

If VAVs are organized under their AHU:

Link in VAV graphic:

ord: ../../  (navigates to AHU parent)

Approach 2: Reference Properties

Add a reference property to each VAV pointing to its AHU:

1. Add ahuRef property to VAV component
2. Set value: station:|slot:/Equipment/AHU-1
3. In graphic, bind link to: ord: ../ahuRef

Approach 3: Tagging

Use Project Haystack tags:

1. Tag AHUs with ahu marker
2. Tag VAVs with vav and ahuRef pointing to parent
3. Query: ord: ../ahuRef->
