Metasys SNE Time Synchronization Issues

Problem

SNE engines show incorrect time or drift, especially certain M4-SNE****1-x models; BACnet schedules and trends misalign.

Root Cause

Those SNE models do not support multicast time sync; multicast configuration on the site leads to unreliable results.

Solution

1. For M4-SNE****1-x Models

• Do not use multicast time sync
• Configure Windows/Unicast time sync instead

2. Configure Unicast NTP

• Point each engine to a reliable NTP or domain time source using unicast

3. For Sites Requiring Multicast

• Use SNE models ending in 0-x or 2-x
• These fully support multicast time sync

4. Verify Corrected Time

• Check time in Metasys UI
• Ensure schedules/trends align with external references
